Virginia Meyer Miller, 75, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, with her daughter by her side.

Born on August 29, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, Virginia was raised in Hillsdale, New Jersey alongside her six siblings. She later settled in Florida, where she dedicated her career to the legal profession as a paralegal before retiring from the Office of the City Attorney for the City of New Smyrna Beach.

Virginia loved spending time on the golf course and was an avid golfer until declining health forced her to put away her clubs. She remained a loyal New York Mets fan despite being married to a lifelong New York Yankees fan. After marrying Craig, she happily embraced his love of Alabama football, making Saturdays in the fall another tradition they enjoyed together.

More than anything, Virginia loved being surrounded by her family. She treasured every opportunity to have everyone together, and her happiest moments were simply having the people she loved gathered in her home. She and Craig adored their beloved dog, Mel, and their cherished “grandpuppers,” Callie and Duke, who brought so much joy to their home. She was a devoted mother, proud Nana, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and unconditional love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

To her daughter, Jessica Pavese, she was not just Mom, she was her best friend. They shared a bond of unconditional love and lifelong friendship and were always there for one another.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Craig Miller, and her parents, Alfred Meyer and Leona “Lee” Meyer.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Pavese, and Jessica’s sons, Michael Hayes, Dean Hayes, and Jack Hayes; her bonus daughter, Cara Miller Weinstein and her husband, Jason Weinstein, and their sons, Jacob Weinstein and Alexander “Xander” Weinstein; her bonus son, Christopher Miller and his wife, Jessica Tsay; her sisters, Kathy Maalouf, Nancy Luce, Janie Zellner, Susan Schmelzer, and Carol Schwartz; her brother, James Meyer; eleven cherished nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A lifelong Catholic, Virginia’s faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout her life. Her family finds peace in knowing she has been reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Craig, and her parents. We like to imagine her once again walking the fairways with Craig, cheering on another Crimson Tide victory by his side, and smiling as Gram reaches into her purse with one more coupon.

Virginia’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely. Though she is gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts, in our stories, and in every family gathering she loved so much.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Musical Theatre Workshop (CMT Workshop), P.O. Box 731797, Ormond Beach, Fl, 32173 or Halifax Repertory Theatre, 615 S. Young St., Ormond Beach, Fl, 32174. Supporting these local organizations is a meaningful way to honor Virginia’s memory by helping children discover confidence, creativity, and community through the performing arts while supporting live theatre in our community. These organizations held a special place in Virginia’s heart because of the joy they brought to her family.

Even as she was going through her own medical issues, she always asked how everyone else was doing. Her concern for others and her optimism is inspiring. Ginger, as her siblings call her, is in good company.
